Sulfur serves many fuctions in plants. It is used in the formation of amino acids, proteins & oils. It is necessary for chlorophyll formation, helps develop & activate certain enzymes & vitamins and is a structural component of two of the 21 amino acids that form protein.
Sulfur also inhibits fungus and some insects and can be a effective part of your IPM program while actually benefiting your plants in all the ways listed above.
